St. Paul traveled to Kansas City Friday night to face KC Metro. It would be a game in which they came out with a lot of intensity, not phased by going into the city and playing a team where most of the girls towered over them in height. The fourth-ranked Lady Indians held a 12-6 lead after the first, and at halftime they had extended their lead to 26-13.
The third quarter was all KC Metro, as they outscored the Lady Indians 13-6, cutting the score to 32-26 entering the fourth quarter.
St. Paul scored 23 points in the fourth quarter, running away with a 55-38 victory. Josie Albertini and Ashton Wood each scored 16 points in the win to lead the Lady Indians. Albertini also pulled down 10 rebounds, notching a double-double. Holly Hutcherson added 10 points. The win was the best overall team win for the Lady Indians all season. Something that is important as the season nears it’s end.
With the win, the Lady Indians improved to 16-2 on the season. They will host Galena on Monday for Senior night, their last home game of the regular season, and will travel to Crest next Thursday for their final game of the regular season.
