Crawford County Sheriff Deputies engaged in high speed chase

Crawford County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested one motorcyclist and are looking for a second after they engaged in a high-speed pursuit on Monday, April 7.
According to a release from the Sheriff’s Department, a deputy attempted to stop two speeding motorcycles in the Girard area at about 7:34 p.m. The riders attempted to elude the deputy, speeding southbound out of Girard.  The pursuit continued to 570 Ave. and 190th Street, where the riders separated; one going west and the other going south. The deputy continued the pursuit of the southbound motorcycle.
According to the report, the chase continued to near the intersection of 560 Ave. and 190th Street, where gravel caused the rider to lose control of the motorcycle and crash. The rider, Antonio Alcorn, 20 of Gardner, was transported by Crawford County EMS for unknown injuries. Alcorn was cited for fleeing and eluding an officer; reckless driving; and failure to stop at posted stop signs. The second motorcyclist has not been located.

No additional information is currently available, and the incident remains under investigation.
