Obituary: Carl Cox

Carl Leroy CoxCarl Leroy Cox, 80, of rural Parsons, died Monday, July 5, 2021 at his residence.

Carl was born March 20, 1941 at rural Parsons, a son of Clarence Harold and Beulah May (Ford) Cox.  He grew up at rural Parsons, Kimball, Chanute, and Stark and graduated from Stark High School.

Carl worked as a self-employed carpenter. He enjoyed Fishing, camping, auctions, and yard sales.

Survivors include his special long-term friend, Marjorie Hallacy of Pittsburg; his sons Carl Cox, Jr., Troy Cox, Clarence (Kerry) Cox, and Paul Cox; his daughters, Nancy, and Amy; numerous grandchildren; a brother, John Cox, and his wife, Anna, of Augusta; numerous nieces and nephews.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Harold and Beulah May Cox; a brother, Leonard Cox; and his sister, Margaret Enos.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 12, 2021 at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Girard with Pastor Rick Prideaux officiating.  Burial will be in the Girard Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m., until service time on Monday.

Friends may call from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m., Sunday at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Girard.
