Law enforcement officers speak with the truck driver who hit the pole. The incident occurred just after 8 P.M.

Shortly after 8 P.M. on Tuesday night, a Leggett & Platt semi-truck damaged an electric pole on the corner of Osage and Walnut, leaving parts of Girard without power.
It is presumed that the truck took an alternate route down Walnut, heading west, due to the road construction at the St. John and Summit four-way stop.
City workers were called in and power was restored around 9:40 later in the evening.
