Obituary: Robert J. “Bob” Gladson

Bob Gladson PHOTORobert J. “Bob” Gladson, 70, of Erie, Kansas, formerly of Girard passed away at 8:10 p.m., Wednesday, December 30, 2015 in the Prairie Mission Retirement Village of Saint Paul, Kansas.
Bob was born October 2, 1945 in Girard, a son of Jack D. Gladson Sr. and Joan (Heitman) Gladson.
He grew up in Girard and attended Girard Schools; graduating from the Girard High School. He attended what is now P.S.U. before starting his career in the printing industry.
On October 3, 1970, Bob was united in marriage to Nancy Crockett in Liberal, Missouri, they later divorced. On February 20, 1992 in Farlington, Kansas, Bob was united in marriage to Patricia Burks; she preceded him in death on August 4, 2015.
Bob was widely known in the printing industry; both as a laborer and manager. He began his printing career as a machine operator and composition supervisor with Va-Co-Hy, now F.M.I. printing of Girard. He then partnered in ownership of Ace Forms of Pittsburg. He later partnered in APICO of Girard. Before his retirement he and Patricia owned and operated Pinnacle Solutions of Girard.
Bob enjoyed fishing, golf, and raising his registered limousine cattle. Bob was a supporter of the Girard Schools and the St. Jude’s Hospital for children. He was also a strong supporter of the 4-H Clubs of Crawford County.
Bob was a member of the Farlington Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge, the Shrine, Sons of the American Legion (SAL), several printing industry organizations and a former member of the Craw-Kan Board of Directors.
Bob is survived by three daughters: Lisa Pride of Girard, Dina Gladson of Girard, Jill Roufs of Marshall, Missouri, two brothers, Jim Gladson of Dallas Texas, Jack Gladson Jr. and wife Nicki of Chanute, Kansas and five grandchildren, Zoe, Layla, Landry, Jalyn and Jayda.

Services for Robert J. Gladson will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 4 at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home of Girard with Pastor Dale Samuels officiating. Visitation will be one hour before service time.
Friends are invited to call after 2:00 p.m., Sunday, at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Girard.
