Obituary: Jennifer Laswell

Jennifer Lynn Laswell, 48, of Pittsburg, KS, passed away on July 06, 2021.

Jennifer was born on May 8, 1973, to Larry and Mary Kathryn “Mimi” (Krusich) Laswell in Pittsburg, KS. She attended St. Mary’s schools and graduated from St. Mary’s-Colgan in 1991. She then attended the University of Kansas and graduated from Pittsburg State University. Jennifer received her Masters Degree in Mathematics Education from Pittsburg State University.

Jennifer taught at Notre Dame De Sion in Kansas City, Carthage High School and Ft. Scott Community College. She currently worked for Teleperformance in Joplin, Mo. as a customer service specialist.

Jenn was an avid card player and enjoyed board games, word puzzles and Sudoku. Her movie collection rivaled any Blockbuster store and she loved to read.

She is survived by her mother, Mary Kathryn “Mimi” Laswell of Pittsburg, KS; a brother, Brian Laswell (Tammy) of Asbury, MO; a sister, Jill Comeau (Chad) of Pittsburg, KS, 2 nephews, Stuart and William Comeau, and 3 nieces, Gretchen, Eden, and Quincy Comeau, all of Pittsburg.

She was preceded in death by her father, Larry R. Laswell, grandparents, Richard and Virginia Laswell and George and Maxine Krusich, and her beloved pugs, Rudy and Dobbie.

A visitation will be held for close friends and family Sunday July 11, 2021, from 5:00pm to 6:30pm at Brenner Mortuary. A private family burial will take place on Monday July 12, 2021. Memorial donations can be made to S.E.K. Humane Society. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th St., Pittsburg, KS.
