Obituary: Beth Louise Turpen

Beth Louise Turpen, 63 of Girard passed away at 10:30 p.m., Thursday, October 27, 2016 at her residence in Girard. 
Beth was born December 5, 1952 in Astoria, Oregon. She grew up in Astoria and attended school there.
In 1980 Beth married John Turpen; he preceded her in death on April 13, 2005.
Beth enjoyed spending time with her family and playing bingo.
She was a member of the United Missionary Baptist Church of Fort Scott, Kansas. She enjoyed her church and spending time with her friend Helen Whitworth.
Beth is survived by one son, John Turpen of Galena, Kansas, three daughters, Lori Buckle and husband Brandon, Sheila Messer, Julie Turpen all of Girard, one brother, David Hoofnagle of Astoria, Oregon, eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Irma Mae Archambault on August 18, 2006.
Friends are invited to attend a celebration of life at 4:00 p.m., Monday, October 31, 2016 at the Girard American Legion.
The Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home assisted the family with the cremation arrangements.
