Girard golf dominates at Columbus

 

Junior Marcy McDonald gets set to chip away; she ended her day in third place with a stroke of 50 at Columbus.

After an impressive third-place finish at Crestwood, the Lady Trojans found themselves at the Columbus Invitational competing against CNC competition.

The Trojans did something not done by many and placed their top three in the top three. Senior Gabbi Sands led the attack for the Trojans winning the Columbus Invitational with a stroke of 43. Senior Marci Heatherly finished in second place ending her day with a stroke of 47. Junior Marcy McDonald also came up huge for the team finishing in third place with a stroke of 50. Another effort from the Lady Trojans was senior Abi Doherty who finished ninth with a stroke of 57.

Girard’s team ended their exceptional day on the course in first place with a score of 197.

The Lady Trojans will compete at the Independence for their next invitational Monday, October 1.
