Fort Scott, KS- During the month of November, the Fort Scott Community College Truck Driving Department will hold a CDL Class A Refresher course and a CDL Defensive Driving class. Both classes will be held on the East Campus (Old Armory Building) in Fort Scott.
The Defensive Driving class will be held Friday, November 20 from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The class includes a lunch hour in that time period.
The Defensive Driving class is intended to help current truck and bus drivers reduce their insurance rates. Some drivers may be able to reduce or even eliminate points against their license by completing the course.
The CDL (Commercial Driver’s License Class A) refresher course will be held November 30 through December 4. Classes run 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and cost approximately $500 for the forty-hour week.
The refresher course is designed to facilitate truck drivers that currently hold a CDL but have not driven professionally in several months or over a year. Recent CDL recipients that are not yet employed to drive may be interested in the course to hone their skills and gain further opportunities for employment.
Both courses are taught by FSCC faculty certified under the National Safety Council. Full-time faculty also teach FSCC CDL program that begins January 4, 2016.
Anyone interested in either course should contact Rob Minor or Adina Findley at (620) 223-2700 x.5386.
