Casey’s General Store may be coming to Girard

A Casey’s General Store may open in Girard by the end of the year, though plans are not yet final.

In a phone interview Friday, Feb. 19, Casey’s General Stores, Inc., representative Sam James said a contract could be signed by May for a lot in Girard. This would prompt three to five months for construction and setup. A 2016 opening date would be possible, if everything goes smoothly.

A prominent lot is available on the southwest corner of the Kansas Highways 7 and 47 intersection. Humble Real Estate Co. is marketing the land, but said on Feb. 18 they are not disclosing information about possible buyers at this time.
