UPDATE: Woman detained safely after standoff

A Pittsburg woman is in custody with no injuries to anyone after police talked her down from an armed home barricade.

Police have not announced her name or precise address, but cordoned off a set of buildings southeast of the 4th and Rouse crossroads in Pittsburg.

A dwelling disturbance at Noon on April 13 led to a significant response, including the Crawford County Sheriff’s tactical team and Kansas Bureau of Investigation agents.’

Following evacuations of the immediate area and closure of 4th Street east of Rouse, the woman submitted to arrest. Witnesses reported seeing her cuffed and peacefully removed from the scene.

No charges are yet announced.
