Victor E. Smith, 84 of Girard passed away Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 8:42 a.m. at the Westridge Assisted Living of Girard.
He was born April 24, 1934 in Farlington, Kansas, a son of Victor A. and Florence (Elliott) Smith.
Victor attended school in Girard, graduating from the Girard High School. He then received his Bachelors Degree from Pittsburg State University.
On May 24, 1952, Victor was united in marriage to Mary Etta Page; she preceded him in death on January 17, 2018.
Victor was employed with the Deill Construction Co. of Pittsburg and later as a Buildings Trade Instructor with the U.S.D. 248 School District.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Farlington.
Victor enjoyed traveling and his horses and cattle.
Survivors include three sons; Gregg Smith and his wife Terry, Jeff Smith and his wife Kim both of Girard, Kansas, Joe Curran and his wife Kim of Farlington, Kansas, one daughter; Vicki Sue O’Brien and her husband Martin of St. Paul, Kansas; one brother, Nels Smith of Mapleton, twenty-one grandchildren, thirty-five great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Victor was preceded in death by a son, Bill Smith, one sister, Effie Mae Camp and one brother, Victor Dale Smith who passed in infancy.
Graveside services for Victor E. Smith will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at the Farlington Cemetery with Reverend Dallas Peterson officiating. There will be no visitation but friends may call after 2 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
