Steven Lee Kruse, 50, of Hepler, Kansas, died Monday, January 2, 2017 at his residence in Hepler.
Steven was born July 18, 1966 in Munich, Germany, the adopted son of Charles and Dolline (Pulliam) Kruse.
Steven came to the United States in 1967, grew up in Hepler and attended Hepler Grade School, and graduated from Girard High School in Girard, Kansas. He graduated from the electrical trade school at Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas.
Steven married Chris Burcham and they divorced. He married Mandy Senecaut and they divorced.
Steven worked as an auto mechanic at Ray Shepherd Motors in Fort Scott, as a carpenter with Phil Wedell Construction Company in Girard, and as a farm hand at Kruse Brothers Farming at rural Hepler.
He was a former member of the George C. Brown Post No. 26, American Legion of Girard.
Survivors are his daughters, Hayley Kruse of Springfield, Missouri and Erin Kruse of Lawrence, Kansas; his parents, of Hepler; a brother, Richard Kruse, and his wife, Carol, of Lawrence; his sister, Susie Peak, and her husband, Donnie, of Parsons, Kansas; his uncles, Bill Kruse of Hepler and Chester Kruse, and his wife, Judy, of Hepler; numerous nieces and nephews.
Steven was preceded in death by his stillborn brothers, Paul Dale Kruse and Charles Wayne Kruse; a sister, Brenda Jo Kruse Davis, on August 30, 2015.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, January 6, 2017 at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home, 518 W St. John, Box 258, Girard, Kansas, 66743.
Memorials are suggested to assist the family with final expenses and these may be left at the funeral home.
