Obituary: Roger Lynn Cunningham

Roger Lynn Cunningham, 63, of Pittsburg, Kansas died at 5:40 p.m., Monday, March 28, 2016 in the Landmark Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.
Roger was born August 8, 1952 in Pittsburg, a son of Ishmael W. and Elizabeth “Elsie” (Nance) Cunningham.  Roger grew up and attended schools in Pittsburg and graduated from Pittsburg High School.
He married Ellen Grace VanKam on December 3, 1977 in the First Baptist Church in Pittsburg.  She survives of the home.
Roger was a lifelong resident of Pittsburg and worked as a van driver for Abe’s Flowers, Anthony Stevens Florist, and Via Christi Hospital, all of Pittsburg.
He enjoyed his children, grandchildren, PHS and PSU football, and he was a classic car enthusiast.
Roger was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pittsburg.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, Ellen Grace Cunningham, of the home; a daughter, Angela Dawn Cunningham, of Pittsburg; a son, Shawn Lynn Cunningham, and his wife, Crista, of Pittsburg; grandchildren Blake Alan Cunningham, Jason Lynn Cunningham, Grace Elizabeth Cunningham, and Chloe Jwanita Carmen Reynolds; a brother, Gary W. Cunningham, of Pittsburg.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services will be at 6:00 p.m., Monday at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Girard with Pastor Jeff Martin officiating.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until service time and following the services until 7:00 p.m.
