Obituary: Jimmy D. Moore

Jimmy D. Moore, 78, of Girard, Kansas, went to be with the Lord at 5:12 a.m., Sunday, August 27, 2017.
Jimmy was born May 1, 1939 in Warm Springs, Arkansas, a son of Mont and Lillie (Coe) Moore. He grew up and attended schools in Arkansas.
He married Patricia A. Ewan on January 5, 1959 in Pocahontas, Arkansas. She survives of the home.
Jimmy and Patricia lived in various cities as he worked in the construction industry. They moved to Girard in 1965 and he worked at various lumber yards in the area.
He was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church at rural Girard.
Jimmy enjoyed his family, singing and playing the guitar, being outdoors and hunting.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, Patricia, of the home, are his sons, Rick A. Moore, and his wife, Cheryle, of Pittsburg, Kansas and Bruce Moore, and his wife, Kim, of Clermont, Florida; his daughter, Velina Hawkins of Pittsburg; his grandchildren Abby Osborn, and her husband, Ike, Jill Wubbena, and her husband, Korey, Brie Rakestraw, and her husband, Cody, Tarah Cuppett, and her husband, Thomas, and Shelby Hawkins; his great-grandchildren Wyatt Osborn, Walker Osborn, Kinley Cuppett, and Bristol Cuppett; his brothers Glenn Moore of Pocahontas and Leroy Moore of Sapulpa, Oklahoma.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Arlan Moore, Arkie Moore, and Wayne Moore; his sisters Maze Moore, Bonnie Ingram, and Notra Green.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church at rural Girard with Pastor Paul Mooney and Pastor Tom Lewis officiating. Burial will be in the Girard Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Tuesday at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Girard where friends may call after 2 p.m., Tuesday.
