Donald Roy Workman, 75, of Pittsburg, Kansas, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2017 at his residence in Pittsburg.
Donald was born January 27, 1941 in Capaldo, Kansas, the son of Roy D. and Ena (Castellani) Workman.
He grew up in Capaldo and attended school at South Radley, graduating from the Frontenac High School in Frontenac, Kansas.
He married Jo Ann Coester on May 5, 1963 in Girard. Jo Ann survives of the home.
Donald worked for many years at the Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company in Pittsburg and later at Dickey Clay Manufacturing in Pittsburg.
He was disabled due to injuries he received in an auto accident in 1999.
Donald enjoyed his family, being outside, hunting, fishing, and playing cards.
He was a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, Jo Ann, are his sons, Donald L. Workman and Michael S. Workman, both of Pittsburg; his grandchildren Samantha Long, T. J. Workman, Elizabeth Workman, and Dawntea Workman, two great grandchildren; a sister, Evelyn McClendon of Capaldo.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services for Donald Workman will be 2 p.m., Thursday at the Smith-Carson-Wall funeral Home of Girard with Pastor James Yost officiating. Burial will be in the Girard Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m., Thursday until service time at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home where friends may call after 2 p.m., Wednesday.
