**ADDITIONAL UPDATE**
On Thursday, May 07, 2015, a third arrest was made in relation to the investigation stemming from the burglary at the Fort Scott Community College – Pittsburg Campus.
A second 16 year old juvenile has been taken into custody for their involvement in this incident. This second juvenile is also being charged with burglary, felony theft, felony criminal damage and felony theft of a motor vehicle.
In a correction to the update sent out on yesterday’s date, both juveniles arrested in this incident have been transported to the Southeast Kansas Juvenile Detention Center in Girard, Kansas, pending further court proceedings.

**UPDATE**
On Wednesday, May 6, 2015, two arrests were made in conjunction with the ongoing investigation into the burglary at the Fort Scott Community College – Pittsburg Campus. 20 year old Michael Wayne Burns, of Pittsburg, and a 16 year old juvenile were taken into custody without incident. Both are being charged with burglary, felony theft, felony criminal damage and felony theft of a motor vehicle.
Additionally, both are also being charged with the felony theft of a trailer from an unrelated incident.
Burns was later transported to the jail at the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office for booking. His bond has been set at $15,000.00. The juvenile was released to the custody of their parents.
Some of the items stolen from the school were later recovered, and the stolen Dodge pickup was located completely submerged underwater in a pit east of Pittsburg.

Break-in of School
On Sunday, April 26, 2015 an officer responded to the Fort Scott Community College-Pittsburg campus, located at 1301 27th Terrace, in reference to a break-in. It was determined a large quantity of power and hand tools were stolen from the school, with a total replacement value of over $6,000. The suspect(s) broke out an office window to gain entry into the building. A Dodge truck which was parked on the property was also stolen.
