Upcoming events at Girard Public Library

From the Girard Public Library:

Rally “round reading story times will continue through Dec. 16. Sessions for ages 2-5 are held on Wed. mornings 10-11am. Sessions for grades K-5th (ages 5-11). are on Wed. afternoons 2:30- 3:30pm. Parents are not required to stay with the child.

Children’s movie night grades K-5th will be on Wed. Nov. 18 from 2:30-4:30pm. Parents are not required to stay with the child. Popcorn and drinks will be served to those who attend. Movie will be “Inside Out”

Teen Time ~ ages 12-18 will be Wed Nov. 18th from 3:30-4:30pm. Teen Time for November has been combined into 1 group due to Thanksgiving.

Kansas Reads to Preschoolers.
Celebrate the importance of reading to young children throughout the month of November. This annual program is sponsored by the State Library of Kansas.
Our celebration will be held on Wednesday Nov. 25 during our Rally “Round Reading program at 10am.
The book for 2015 is… ” Is Your Mama a Llama?” by Deborah Guarino. We will be giving away 1 copy of the book to a child that attends our program.

Christmas Photo Opportunity 
We will be offering a photo opportunity (not professional) for the public. If you would like, we will order pictures for you from Mpix. Photos are to be picked up at the library. This will be a fundraiser for the Girard Public Library with proceeds going towards Children and Teen Programming. Payment for photos will be required in advance. Prices are as follows: Wallets (Set of 4) -$2; 4×6 – $1.50; 5×7 – $2.50; 8×10 – $5.00; and photo magnet $5.00
Dates and time will be announced at a later date.

Enter to win a set of Thanksgiving Blocks. Come by the library to buy a chance! Tickets are $1 each. Drawing will be held Friday Nov. 20. This is a fundraiser for our Teen activities.
We are planning our Christmas crafts for the kids! We are needing Christmas garland for our kid’s Christmas craft projects.
Do you have any garland that you won’t be using and want to get rid of? Will you be changing your Christmas decorations this year?
Also if you have any smooth Christmas ball ornaments you want to get rid of? If so we will take them! Please drop off at the library.
