PSU grad featured on ‘House Hunters’

Twice in three years, Pittsburg State graduates have been featured on the popular cable show, “House Hunters.”

“Tackling a Fixer in Tulsa” originally aired last December and features Ashley Snyder, a 2015 graduate, and her husband Jacob, also a PSU graduate with a degree in mechanical engineering. After working in Joplin, they moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to look for a home and put down roots.

Ashley Snyder, a 2015 PSU graduate with a connection to Joplin, was featured on a repeat episode of ‘House Hunters’ this past Sunday, Sept. 3, on HGTV.

He wanted a Tudor, she wanted a contemporary. They both agreed they wanted a large yard, open concept, and most importantly, projects.

They found what they were looking for in Episode 8 of Season 121. Snyder now uses a loft in it as a home office for her thriving interior design business, Ashley Lauren Design Studio.

“We applied as sort of a joke,” Snyder said of trying to land on ‘House Hunters.’

But correspondence back and forth between HGTV soon got them an episode.

In November 2014, PSU graduates Ugo and Amy Nwagwu and their search for a home were featured on “House Hunters” in their quest for a home in Pittsburg.

Ugo earned a bachelor’s of business administration degree in banking and finance in 2003 and an MBA in 2005. Amy double-majored in accounting and finance, earning her BBA in 2008.
