Obituary: Ronald J Breneman

Ronald J Breneman, 78, of Girard, passed away at 6:00 a.m. on Friday, September 18, 2015 at his home. Ron was born in Girard, Kansas on December 28, 1936, the son of Ivan and Grace (Trabue) Breneman. He attended Girard High School where he graduated in 1954.  He continued on to receive his BA from Pittsburg State University in 1958. Ron played center for the PSU football team his freshman year and was a member of Phi Lambda Chi fraternity. He married Mary Agnes Niggemann on June 7, 1958 and they spent their entire life together in Girard. She survives of the home. Ron Breneman OBIT
Ron owned and operated Breneman Auto Parts with his brother Roger Breneman, in Girard Kansas. He began working for his father during his youth and purchased the business in 1976. Ron sold his interest and retired in 2002.  He was a member of the Board of Directors for the First National Bank of Girard.  He also was a member of National Guard, Army Reserve, Lions Club, Jaycees, Girard Chamber of Commerce and other civic organizations. He and Mary attended St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Girard, KS.
Ron was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He loved spending time with his family, especially his four perfect granddaughters. In addition to his wife, Mary, survivors are daughter, Diane Breneman, her husband, Todd Rohr, and granddaughters, Elizabeth and Anna of Leawood, KS; son Mark Breneman, his wife Renee, and granddaughters, Rylan and Mason of Laguna Hills, CA; his brother Roger Breneman and his wife Cheryl of Girard Kansas; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 21, 2015 at St. Michael’s Catholic with Father Max Biltz and Father Roger Lumbre as Concelebrants. Burial will be in the Girard Cemetery following mass.
A rosary will be held at 6:30 p.m., Sunday, September 20, 2015 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Girard where the family will receive friends until 8:00 p.m.
