Obituary: Albert L. “Al” Piotrowski

Albert L. “Al” Piotrowski, 95, of Parsons, died at 9:25 a.m., Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at the Parsons Presbyterian Manor.
He was born February 28, 1921, at Girard, KS, to Albert L. and Vivian N. (Throndson) Piotrowski. He lived in the Girard and Farlington areas and graduated from Girard High School. From June 1942 to January 1946 he served in the United States Army Air Force and served with the Eighth Air Force in the European Theatre.
Throughout his working career, Al had taught in a one room country school, worked as a customer service and sales representative for Hallmark Cards, controller for a wholesale baking company and as a distribution manager for a major flour mill company. Finally, he was a self-employed audiologist and hearing aid dispenser, retiring on December 31, 1989.
On May 26, 1943 he married Helen Sale at Sarasota, Florida. They divorced in 1985. In 2001 he entered a loving companion relationship with Helen C. Jones.
Al was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church and in past years was active in numerous other organizations.
He is survived by his companion, Helen Jones; a son Doug Piotrowski, his wife Rosie and son Thomas, of Stilwell, Kansas; a niece, Linda Ryan Stout, her husband Jay and their family, of Muskogee, Oklahoma. His sister, Rosemary Ryan, of Muskogee, preceded him in death.
MEMORIAL SERVICES will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 12, 2016 at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home, with Rev. Margaret Johnson and Riley Cartwright officiating. Burial will be in the Ft. Scott National Cemetery on Thursday morning, May 12.
