Girls golf competes at Crestwood

            The Lady Trojans golf team competed Tuesday, September 25, at Crestwood Golf Course in Pittsburg, Kansas. Girard faced off against solid competition in their tournament, matching up against CNC as well as SEK schools.

Senior Gabbi Sands came up huge for the Trojans Tuesday as she finished in second place ending her day with a stroke of 82. Junior Marcy McDonald was big for the Trojans as well finishing 11th finishing with a stroke of 96. Senior Marci Heatherly finished 17th in the tournament helping the Trojans effort as she finished with a stroke of 99.

Other results from Crestwood include Senior Bailey Leritz who finished 22nd shooting a 107. Sophomore MacKynze Pride finished 35th for Girard shooting a 124. Junior Isabella Crumpacker placed tied for 43rd ending her day with a stroke of 141.

The team effort helped the Lady Trojans end their tournament in third place finishing with an ending stroke of 385 just four points behind second place Caney.

Girard’s varsity girls golf will move onto their next contest in Columbus for a 9-hole tournament Thursday, September 27.
