In their previous matchup, Girard went down to the last second with the Columbus Titans as they pulled away with a win. This week, Girard faced off against the Burlington Wildcats Friday, September 22, in Burlington, Kansas.

From the start of the game, it was all Burlington as their tricky two-quarterback formation and running game deceived the Trojan defense. Turnovers were also a costly problem for the Trojan offense, allowing two interceptions as the Trojans were defeated 34-12 falling to an even record of 2-2.

Girard now sits at third place in the CNC league as they look to close the gap within the next couple of games.

Senior running back Chandler Humble came up big for the Trojans in the rushing game with 19 carries for 121 yards and a touchdown. Senior quarterback Ty Norris also completed 4 passes for 71 yards and rushing for a touchdown.

The Trojans stay at home next Friday as they square off against Anderson County (1-2) as a part of Girard’s three-game homestand.
